This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your data when using the Uni Way app for managing transportation schedules, notifications, uploading/downloading lectures, creating student accounts, and location services.
2) Data We Collect
- Account data: name, email, phone number, password (encrypted).
- Location data: approximate/precise location during app use or in background (if enabled) for routes, stations, and reminders.
- Uploaded content: lecture files, attachments, metadata (filename, date, size).
- Communication: support messages, reports, and feedback.
We may use third-party providers (cloud hosting, analytics, maps) under data protection agreements.
3) Purposes
- Provide core features (account, schedules, routes, notifications).
- Send transportation alerts and emergency updates.
- Enable lecture uploads/downloads.
- Improve security, diagnose issues, provide support.
- Comply with legal and official requests.
4) Legal Bases
- Contract performance (service you requested).
- Legitimate interest (improving service, preventing abuse).
- Consent (precise/background location, notifications, optional features – revocable).
- Legal obligation (Syrian applicable laws).
6) Permissions
- Location (while using): for routes/stations.
- Background location (optional): reminders.
- Notifications: schedule alerts.
- Files/camera (optional): uploading/scanning lectures.
Manage permissions in device settings:
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services / Notifications.
- Android: Settings > Location / Notifications > App permissions.
7) Data Retention
- Account data: kept while active, deleted/ anonymized within 30 days upon request.
- Logs/errors: up to 12 months.
- Backups: purged within 30 days.
- Files: kept until deleted or account closed.
8) Security
We apply encryption, access controls, and monitoring. However, no method is 100% secure.
9) Your Rights
- Access and copy your data.
- Correct inaccuracies.
- Request deletion (“right to be forgotten”).
- Object/restrict processing in some cases.
- Data portability (where technically possible).
- Withdraw consent (without affecting prior lawful use).

10) Hosting & Cross-Border Transfer
Data may be processed/stored on our servers or hosting providers. We apply safeguards (standard contractual clauses, recognized mechanisms) in line with laws and export restrictions.
11) Minors’ Privacy
The app targets university students, not underage individuals. Parental consent may be required if under legal age.
12) Lecture Content & Intellectual Property
You are responsible for owning rights to uploaded files. We only process them to deliver the service.
13) Account Deletion & Contact
Delete your account via the app (Account > Delete) or email support@uniway-sy.com. Some records may be retained for compliance.
14) Changes
We may update this policy. Major changes will be notified via app or email with “last updated” date.
15) Language Priority
If there is a conflict between Arabic and English versions, the Arabic version prevails unless otherwise specified.
